The Bell Jar was the first book that I read that I could relate to personally I think I was about 13 when I read it and at the same time Nirvana where just getting big. Great combo
no, i haven't read prozac nation but i've seen the movie. i agree with not knowing how i feel about her, she seems very difficult and reluctant to help herself.
I had a massive obsession with Kurt Cobain after reading a biography in 2002. He was truly beautiful and troubled. I read a few other biographies of his, and now have a collection of about 7 Kurt-related books. I wrote an essay on Heavier than Heaven - about how the literary biographer researches their subject, and got to interview Kurt's biographer Charles R Cross via email.
